Surf guiding & surf trips in Lombok

You already surf. We know which of the dozen waves around Kuta is actually working this morning — and we'll put you on it.

The hard part isn't surfing. It's choosing.

Within an hour of Kuta there are more than a dozen waves, and on any given morning most of them are wrong: too small, too big, wrong tide, wrong wind, closing out. Visitors lose days finding that out one spot at a time.

A guide is how you skip that. We check the swell, the wind and the tide, pick the one that suits your level that morning, and take you there.

What a guided day looks like

  • We agree the night before on a rough plan, and confirm it at dawn
  • Spot chosen on the day's conditions, not on a schedule
  • Transport sorted, and the boat transfer when the break needs one
  • A rental board included if yours isn't right for it
  • Someone in the lineup who knows where the reef is and where to sit

Surf trips further out

Some days the right answer isn't in front of Kuta at all. For a full day on the east coast reefs we go out with Boce Surf Boat from Awang harbour — twenty-five minutes across to Ekas Bay, two sessions and lunch cooked on board.

We'll tell you honestly when that's worth it and when the wave down the road is better.

Who it's for

Anyone who can already paddle out and ride a wave on their own. If you're still finding your feet, a lesson gets you further for less money — and we'd rather say so than sell you the wrong thing.

When it goes small here, the boat leaves for Ekas at six.

Surf lessons & guiding

Someone in the water with you who surfs here every day.

Kuta is a base camp for a dozen waves, and the right one on a given morning depends on the tide, the wind and your level. That knowledge is the lesson — the coaching is the rest of it.

A beach lesson: three students practising pop-ups on soft-tops while the coach demonstrates, the bay behind them
