Ding repair in Kuta, Lombok

Bring the board in wet. Resin, cloth and a repair that holds — with an honest answer on when you get it back.

Get it out of the water, fast

A ding is a hole, and a hole drinks. A board that surfs two more sessions with an open crack takes on water that soaks into the foam and spreads, and what would have been a twenty-minute patch becomes a job that needs days of drying before anyone can touch it.

So the rule is simple: the moment you feel or see a crack, that board's session is over. Bring it in — wet is fine, we would rather have it early.

What we fix

  • Pressure cracks and open dings on the deck and the bottom
  • Crushed and cracked rails
  • Nose and tail damage, including snapped-off tips
  • Loose or torn-out fin boxes and leash plugs
  • Water-logged boards that need drying out before anything else
  • Epoxy and polyester boards — they need different resin, and they get it

How long it takes

A clean, dry ding is quick, and most straightforward repairs go back in the water fast. A board that has been full of water for a week needs to dry properly first, and no amount of hurrying changes that — resin over wet foam fails, and then you are paying twice.

We tell you which one you have got when you walk in, not after we have started.

Fixing it yourself

If you would rather patch it on the road, we sell ding kits and solar-cure resin over the counter and we will show you how to use it properly. Clean it, dry it, sand it back, build it up — the five minutes of advice is free.

It will not be as strong as a proper repair, but it will get you through the trip.

Ding repair

A ding on day two shouldn't cost you the rest of the trip.

Resin, cloth, a bit of patience and a board that comes back stronger than the patch job someone did on it last season.

  1. Send a photo

Message the ding on WhatsApp before you even get on the scooter. We'll tell you straight away whether it's a quick fix or a proper job.

  2. Drop it in

Bring the board in wet if you have to — the sooner a ding stops drinking water, the cheaper and stronger the repair.

  3. Back in the water

Most straightforward dings are done fast. Anything that needs the foam properly dried out takes longer, and we say so before we start.
