Buying a board here beats flying one in

Airlines charge a fortune for a board bag and hand it back with a cracked nose often enough that half the lineup has a story about it. For a trip of two weeks or more, buying a used board here and selling it back before you fly is usually cheaper — and the board is already suited to the waves you came for.

The rack turns over constantly. What's in the shop today is not what was there last week, so the fastest way to know is to message us and ask for photos.

What we check before a board goes on the rack

• Every ding found, opened, dried and sealed properly — not taped over
• The stringer and the rails checked for pressure cracks and old repairs
• Fin boxes and leash plug tested, replaced if they are loose
• Dimensions and volume measured, not guessed from the stringer print
• The board's history told straight: what it has been through, what it is good for

What a used board is worth here

Price comes down to condition, how old the board is, how desirable the shape is in these waves, and how many repairs it has had. A clean board in a size people actually want in Lombok holds its value well. A heavily repaired board in an odd size does not, however good it was when it was new.
